MIKEY HILB

MIKEY HILB
HOOD RIVER, OR

Mikey Hilb is a real estate developer and adventurer in the Columbia River Gorge.  Growing up in Colorado he found the best place to be was recreating in the mountains and streams around him.  He attended high school in Steamboat Springs to focus on competitive skiing, but it also gave him the opportunity to mountain bike, kayak, fly fish and rock climb.  Mikey was a member of the US Ski Team and qualified for numerous World Cup events.  After he retired from skiing he used his passion for cinema and love of adventure to transition into the world of action sports.  He directed two internationally distributed feature films “Deep Winter” (Sony Pictures) and “Dish Dogz” (Lionsgate Cinema).  During his time making movies Mikey was able to invest in Hood River real estate and move there in 2004.  Mikey and his two boys now live in the playground of Hood River where they can adventure where nature is the main event!

Protecting and preserving our forests, mountains, rivers and wild open spaces is tremendously important to me and I hope to do this by growing the Pacific Rivers brand!!!
TAKE ACTION
Today, throughout the Snake River Basin, imperiled populations of salmon continue to die at rates far below sustainable replacement levels. Scientists have told us for decades that breaching the four federal dams in the lower Snake River. Congressman Mike Simpson of Idaho has an ambitious proposal to remove the dams and invest billions in energy, irrigation and transportation infrastructure.  But elected leaders in Washington and Oregon must step up too before we lose the fish that define the region’s ecology and cultural heritage. Good work is happening in places like the Lostine, but ultimately, the success of those collaborations depend on restoring a free-flowing Snake River.
